About Sharmin de Vries
Sharmin de Vries began her storytelling journey the moment she graduated with a degree in Media & Communications from Goldsmiths, University of London. Upon graduation, she moved back to the Netherlands and started a career in broadcasting. Uncovering the latest scoops, crafting compelling newsworthy stories and working under extremely tight deadlines, were the order of the day.
After several years in broadcasting, Sharmin ventured over to the wondrous world of PR & communications, working on the agency side and advising and managing an extensive client portfolio consisting of triple A-brands in the fields of tourism, hospitality, business, lifestyle and non-profit.
Sharmin has spent the last 10+ years working as a senior in-house PR, communications & content specialist. Her ‘client-side’ career started with a stint at the VriendenLoterij (FriendsLottery), after which she became PR & Communications manager for the Benelux at award-winning DMMO (Destination Management & Marketing Organisation) the Aruba Tourism Authority.
Over the years, the PR landscape has evolved at lightspeed. Adapting to changing dynamics has and continues to be crucial. Sharmin takes a proactive and flexible approach, thriving on unlocking an organisation or brand’s potential through impactful storytelling.
